A new partnership between a payment technology company and a retail-centric software development and distribution company has brought cloud-based services to Microsoft POS units.
It was announced this week that Retail Realm — a leading distributor of Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management Systems (RMS), Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail and Retail Realm Essentials powered by Microsoft Dynamics — is being integrated into Cayan’s cloud-based payments solution, Genius. As noted in a press release, the new integration, which will debut at this month’s NRF “Retail’s BIG Show” in New York, will enable Microsoft Dynamics partners to offset security concerns and facilitate additional payment types, all within a completely EMV-compliant system.
“Today’s retailers expect support for different payment types and platforms, and many don’t want their Microsoft Dynamics solution to be confined to a specific payment gateway or processor,” Rachel Smith, Retail Realm’s director of sales in North America, stated in the release. “They want ease of use. They want choices. They want to be able to use a gateway for their existing payment processors or use a solution that offers both the gateway and payment processors. The Genius platform enables customers to use the processor of their choice.”
The release points to the flexibility of the Cayan Genius platform, given its ability to continuously accept new payment technologies, allowing Retail Realm customers to accept multiple payment types, including mobile payments. Some of the value-added features that Genius offers include point-to-point encryption, PCI and EMV compliance, tokenization, splash screen advertising, video playbook, line item display, offline processing, electronic signature on-demand and gift and loyalty programs.
“At Cayan, we strive to partner with companies who are committed to enhancing the customer experience through technology,” said Henry Helgeson, CEO of Cayan, in the release. “By partnering with Retail Realm, we’re continuing our mission of bringing state-of-the art payments solutions to businesses by integrating with their suite of Microsoft Dynamics solutions.”
