The newest iteration of Samsung’s Galaxy device, the Galaxy S8, is debuting on March 29, Reuters reported. The launch will come in the wake of the Galaxy Note 7 issues that led the firm to lose money and market share against Apple as the batteries of some of those devices caught fire.
The newswire said that Samsung Electronics showed “a short video clip” that stated the launch data at its Unpacked Event at Mobile World Congress that was held in Barcelona. The trade fair, as noted by Reuters, had been, historically speaking, a launchpad for past technologies. The launch had been postponed.
Separately, gsmarena.com reported that the company had also presented its Android Tablet and Galaxy Book, which sport respective screen sizes of 10.6 and 12 inches. But after those presentations, the company offered up its video with the launch details and the location, which will be held in New York next month.
Among the newer features according to the gsmarena.com site, the Galaxy S8 will not have a “physical” button at the front of the device.
