Brazil’s competition watchdog CADE has won, for the third time, the title for Best Competition Agency in the Americas, awarded yearly by the British publisher Global Competition Review. The agency was praised as one of the most efficient competition authorities in the world.
In a night of double success for the Brazilian antitrust community, Brazilian law firm Lino, Beraldi, Belluzzo e Caminati, based in Sao Paulo (and frequent contributors to CPI) walked home with the award of “Regional law firm of the year – Americas”, being regarded as among the best law firms for competition matters in the Latin American region.
“In short, we would say the GCR award is of vital importance for our law firm, as it demonstrates the recognition we have from our clients, colleagues and associates due to the seriousness and high quality of work we have developed over the years”, said a statement by attorneys Eduardo Caminati and Guilherme Missali.
Enforcement and promotion of competition policies has seen great advances in Brazil over the last decade, significantly affecting Latin America’s largest economy. As a result of their efforts and compromise with free competition, Brazil continues to consolidate its leading position in competition matters within the region.
