Alejandro Raya Rodriguez and Arturo Robles Robalo have been nominated by Mexico’s Federal Government to take up a position as Commissioners at the Federal Commission for Economic Competition (COFECE) and the Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFE), respectively. The men would hold these positions for up to nine years, should they be ratified by Mexico’s Senate.
Raya Rodríguez is a lawyer, currently heading the Planning, Liaison and International Affairs unit at COFECE. His bid for the position will be reviewed jointly by the Commerce and Industrial Promotion commission and the Legislative Studies commission at the Senate.
Robles Robalo, a Telecommunications Engineer and current adjunct General Director for investigations at the IFT, will be reviewed by the Communications and Transport, Radio, Television and Film commission, along with the Legislative Studies commission.
