White & Case Appoints Rebecca Farrington as Co-Head of Global Antitrust Practice

 |  July 1, 2024
International law firm White & Case has appointed Rebecca Farrington as co-head of its Global Antitrust Practice. Farrington will share leadership duties with J. Mark Gidley, strengthening the firm’s antitrust litigation and advisory services worldwide.

Farrington’s appointment comes at a time of momentum for White & Case’s antitrust team, which has recently secured notable victories, including in the Bystolic antitrust litigation and a major win for pharmaceutical giant AbbVie.

Rebecca Farrington brings experience to her new role, with a practice that spans government merger and non-merger investigations as well as private antitrust litigation. Her client roster includes industry leaders such as Saudi Aramco, Newmont Mining, Anthem and Hertz.

Farrington has a track record of defending both proposed and consummated mergers before the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Department of Justice (DOJ). Her expertise covers a broad range of industries, from pharmaceuticals and healthcare to semiconductors, food products, aviation and petroleum.

In addition to her merger work, Farrington has successfully defended clients in non-merger investigations, including those involving alleged market allocation and violations of Section 8 of the Clayton Act. She has also been a strong advocate for government intervention in cases where clients are adversely affected by proposed mergers or anticompetitive conduct.

White & Case’s decision to appoint Farrington as co-head of its Global Antitrust Practice reflects the firm’s strategic focus on enhancing its global antitrust services and expanding into new regions.
