Providers from around the industry have taken on new geographic markets, as companies pursued new customers in distant locales and new verticals. They also made moves to boost sales via new products, services and business segments.
First Data, for one, recently debuted a new business organization, known as First Data Integrated Solutions Group, which will offer expanded developer tools for integrations with the company’s platforms. Meanwhile, software provider Reckon recently came to a perpetual license agreement with Pose POS, which gives the company access to source code for Pose’s POS system and MicroManager time-tracking system.
And while some companies have targeted new business areas with expansions, Square has its sights set on geographic growth. The company recently announced that it would bring its developer payment API toolkit, known as Build with Square, to Australia, the first country outside of the U.S. to have access to the API. Build with Square first launched in 2016 and is designed to enable third-party developers to integrate the company’s eCommerce and processing services with their own apps or devices.

While these apps may enable users to take better care of their personal health, because they are designed for use by a mass audience, they often lack the personalization and one-on-one experience that health care typically requires.
