Reports Friday (Dec. 2) said DHgate.com revealed plans to upgrade its platform payment infrastructure to ensure that every transaction will take six seconds or less. According to reports, through optimizing existing infrastructure and acquiring additional servers across the globe, the site was able to accelerate page loading times and support faster transaction speeds with an eye on customer satisfaction.

Reports also said that six seconds is half the time it takes the rest of the eCommerce industry to load payment processing pages, on average.

DHgate.com has targeted its payments capabilities in recent years. It had previously integrated Masterpass into its platform, making it the first merchant in China to enable the digital wallet offered by Mastercard. The move enabled faster, more efficient payments for its cross-border buyers, 90 percent of which use credit cards to transact on the site, the company said.

Last March, the platform also rolled out new features to safeguard international B2B trade conducted on its site with the launch of a safety department. It followed the introduction of several features aimed at mitigating risk of B2B eCommerce and supporting heightened buyer trust on the site.
