Enterprise content services provider Hyland is enhancing the integration of its OnBase ERP platform with SAP to strengthen accounts payable automation capabilities, the company said in a press release Tuesday (Oct. 8).
Hyland’s AP Automation for SAP solution deploys advanced data integration and automation to accelerate approval and posting of invoices for payment. The integration enhancements allow the tool to add SAP’s Business Application Programming Interface and Brainware’s intelligent capture technologies to capture and migrate invoice data into ERP systems.
AP Automation for SAP is one of several Hyland AP automation solutions that can integrate into third-party platforms, including ERPs, financial management tools and other invoicing, procurement and accounts payable tools.
“Hyland’s long track record of integrating AP solutions and our successful work with SAP informed the enhancements to the connector framework that creates a more intuitive and cohesive user experience,” said Hyland Product Manager Don Dittmar in the release. “For example, validating data from captured invoices against SAP data expedites document processing and ensures the information is complete even when the desired values are not readable, or even present, on the original document.”
“Most importantly,” he continued, “simplified deployment through pre-built best practice functionality and configuration means our customers see results and ROI even sooner.”
In April, Hyland announced separate enhancements to its AP connectivity into existing ERP solutions, including OnBase, again focusing on accounts payable data from invoices and supplier contracts. At the time, Dittmar said the improved connector framework aims to provide “an enhanced user experience regardless of the ERP [companies] work with.”
Last year, the company released research in conjunction with Satista that found businesses often struggle to address errors and a lack of automation in the accounts payable function, with many organizations lacking a complete understanding of what automation means.
“You have some people say, ‘We email our invoices around for approval,’ and they consider that a paperless or automated process — and it’s really not,” Hyland Solution Marketing Manager Danielle Simer told PYMNTS in an interview at the time.
