Tech-based national shipping carrier X Delivery — which has grown its monthly revenue ten-fold over the last year — has recently expanded the Texas-based company’s leadership team, according to a Monday (Nov. 8) press release.
The shipper of direct-to-consumer eCommerce goods added Mark Lavelle as its CEO, while founder and former CEO Chris Guggenheim takes the helm as executive chair of the X Delivery board of directors.
Lavelle comes to the position with more than 20 years of business-boosting experience. The co-founder, chairman and CEO of Deep Lake Capital, Lavelle also served as senior vice president of commerce at Adobe, which had been acquired Magento, where he was CEO. He also had senior leadership roles with eBay and PayPal and co-founded Bill Me Later, a buy now, pay later (BNPL) company that is now part of PayPal.
In addition to Lavelle, X Delivery announced the following new additions: Jason Woosley is senior vice president of product and technology; Peter Sheldon is vice president of strategy and business development; and Brian Carp is chief financial officer.
X Delivery provides nationwide eCommerce delivery and strives to make two-day delivery standard, according to the press release.
“Customers want their packages faster than ever. Prime-style delivery has set the bar high, making the delivery experience as important as product selection or check-out. Unfortunately, now that merchants are seeing an explosion in demand for ecommerce experiences, the incumbent carriers are throttling capacity, raising prices and subverting a branded experience,” said X Delivery founder Chris Guggenheim. “We built a first-of-its-kind national carrier platform that unlocks nearly unlimited capacity to provide high-quality, flexible and transparent delivery for our clients and their customers.”
DoorDash too is getting into the shipping business, according to PYMNTS. The takeout delivery company announced an effort to ship foods and retail items from local shops and restaurants to customers anywhere.
