After backing Facebook for its “buy button,” San Francisco based online payments vendor Stripe, which powers payments processing for businesses in over 18 countries, has launched itself on the iOS platform with an iPhone app.
Using the iPhone app, businesses can now access the Stripe dashboard to review payments, subscription plans, transfers, and customers and to provide refunds, among other options.
The app also utilizes the notification layer of the iOS to provide the users with details of account activity and a daily summary. Meanwhile, it enables the user to set up custom notifications targeted at monitoring specific transactions.
The company, which recently made headlines for a prospective $500 million funding round, is currently supporting payment processing for over 40 companies like Twitter, Lyft and Kickstarter, which recently dropped Amazon Payments in favor of the $5 billion startup.
Steering clear of its competitors, Stripe gained the favor of Balanced, a peer-to-peer marketplace payments service that recently shut down and officially declared its support to Stripe for customer migration.
While Stripe continues to expand with its growing presence across continents and a longer list of merchants, the company is also seeing competition build up in developing countries like India, where the market is heating up to other payments processing companies like RazorPay, which deals on a Stripe-like business model.
