The world, we are often told, is becoming more tightly intertwined by the day. Connected commerce is our collective future, for both consumers and retailers alike. Prime Day is great proof of this. A wholly homemade shopping holiday that first rolled out a few years ago is now, as of 2018, an international event in both the physical and digital worlds. That’s good news for most, but for some – like the “financial invisibles” that PYMNTS has been tracking – those connections aren’t quite hardwired yet. Lacking the funds or perhaps the digital access to really connect with the rest, invisibles continue to struggle to be seen in many contexts. But as the world is getting smaller, the connection points seem to be expanding.
