The companies will donate an amount equal to 2 percent of in-store and online purchases that are made with an Amazon Rewards Visa Card — up to one million dollars — to the Foundation.
“We are excited to jointly create, with our partners at Amazon and Whole Foods Market, a program that benefits Whole Planet Foundation and will ultimately have a positive impact on families living in poverty around the world,” Leslie Gillin, president of Chase Co-Brand Cards, said in a press release. “For using their credit card at Whole Foods, Amazon Reward Visa Cardmembers will continue to get their amazing benefits — such as 5% or 3% Back — as well as support women microentrepreneurs through this campaign. It is truly a win-win.”
“We are thrilled to have Chase and Amazon donate when shoppers use their Amazon Rewards Visa Card,” said Philip Sansone, president and executive director for Whole Planet Foundation. “For a woman investing in her home-based bakery, neighborhood shop, small scale farm, or artisan goods she sells in a marketplace, a microcredit loan of $200 or less can give her the chance to create or expand her business, and help lift her out of poverty.”
