IBM’s Weather Channel Tests Subscription Bundles
The Weather Channel is jumping onto the subscription bundle bandwagon with a program that lets consumers check the weather, keep up with the news or get deals on hotels from one platform. The company launched the program in partnership with USA Today and Trip Advisor, saying the aim is to save users money and help them spend less time managing subscriptions.
DoorDash, Walmart Sever Delivery Deal
DoorDash and Walmart are ending their 3-year-old grocery delivery partnership, an ongoing deal initially signed for the Atlanta metro area. “We’d like to thank Walmart for their partnership and are looking forward to continuing to build and provide support for merchants in the years ahead,” a spokesperson for DoorDash told PYMNTS. According to published reports, DoorDash said the relationship was no longer beneficial for either party and gave Walmart 30 days’ notice, with the partnership scheduled to end next month.
BitPay Enables Consumers to Purchase Best Buy Gift Cards With Crypto
Crypto payments technology firm BitPay has added gift cards from Best Buy that it lets consumers purchase with cryptocurrency. With these new gift cards, consumers can more easily spend bitcoin, ether, litecoin and other cryptocurrencies at the electronics retailer. Best Buy is among the hundreds of brands for which BitPay enables consumers to buy gift cards with crypto.
