Fitness App Provider Ranking Sees the Leader Add 8 Points to Its Score

Fitness app, rankings, best

Need help finding a fitness app? No sweat! PYMNTS’ Provider Ranking of Fitness apps brings the top contenders in this segment to the podium each month.

There’s a lot to choose from as the podium normally includes the top 10 contenders but has now made room for 13.

Some tie scores allowed that to happen. Other highlights from this month’s competition include the leader adding eight points to its score, two other movers and shakers boosting their scores by five points and two newcomers joining the Top 10.

The Top 5

At the front of the pack, as it was last month, is Sweatcoin Walking Step Counter. This app has also improved its score by eight points, bringing it to 98 and making it this month’s biggest mover and shaker.

Next up, with a score of 95, there’s a new runner-up. Planet Fitness Workouts has gained a position since last time and is now ranked second.

Dropping out of that spot is FitCoach. This app is now running third with a score of 92, which is two points lower than last time.

There’s another change at No. 4, as MyFitnessPal has taken this spot after moving up one level. This app has achieved a score of 87, one point lower than last time.

The previous holder of that spot isn’t far behind. Workouts By Muscle Booster has fallen back to fifth with a score of 84.

The Top 10

Holding onto its place at No. 6 is Strava: Run, Ride, Swim. This app retains its position in the ranking with a score of 78.

Also maintaining its place is FitOn. This app is again ranked seventh, now with a score of 76.

Next up, there’s a three-way tie for eighth. Nike Training Club was here last month too, while MapMyRun By Under Armour and Runkeeper — GPS Running Tracker have moved up one position. All three apps have a score of 62.

Also moving up one level is Workout For Women. This app is now ranked ninth with a score of 52. As that score is nine points higher than the one it earned last month, it’s also a mover and shaker.

The tie scores have left room for some other competitors to join the Top 10 this month, and the No. 10 spot is filled by — another tie. Fitness & Bodybuilding Pro and JEFIT Workout Planner Gym Log — a mover and shaker that has added five points to its score — have a score of 48 and close out this month’s contest in the Provider Ranking of Fitness apps.
