In its seventh year collaborating with Stand Up To Cancer, Mastercard announced that its cardholders helped to raise $4 million during the annual Dine Out campaign.
Cardholders were invited to donate to the cause and give back by dining out and sharing their reason for fighting cancer. The campaign, which ran for a period of time this summer, saw Mastercard make a donation to Stand Up To Cancer each time a cardholder spent more than $10 for a qualifying meal using their Mastercard card.
“The movement that Stand Up To Cancer has created is something we at MasterCard are honored to help advance,” Raja Rajamannar, chief marketing and communications officer for Mastercard, explained in a press release.
“A special thank you to our cardholders, issuing banks and restaurant partners and, of course, our friends at Stand Up To Cancer, who have all proven the profound impact of bringing people together to support a Priceless Cause.”
Over the course of the last seven years, Mastercard cardholders have helped to raise a total of $35 million towards cancer research in both the U.S. and Canada through the annual campaigns.
“We are tremendously grateful to Mastercard for its long-term collaboration and incredible commitment towards the fight against cancer,” Stand Up To Cancer Cofounder Rusty Robertson added.
“This campaign with Mastercard has brought millions of people together to unite against one cause and has shown that, by harnessing the power of bringing people together, we are well-equipped to fund accelerated, innovative cancer research,” Robertson said.
