Competition is sizzling in the mobile order-ahead space as more consumers turn to digital to get their meals. It’s a dynamic area, as seen in the latest PYMNTS Provider Ranking of Mobile Order-Ahead Apps, which this time around sees no less than three ties. Papa John’s Pizza knocked Dairy Queen all the way to No. 6 to claim the top spot. Other movers and shakers include McDonald’s, Chipotle Mexican Grill and Wingstop.
Here is how the ranking looks:
Papa John’s Pizza climbs up one ranking to claim the No. 1 spot, scoring 91 points to get there.
Not far behind is Domino’s Pizza, scoring 90 points to secure the No. 2 ranking.
No. 3 now goes to Wingstop, scoring 88 points to rise one ranking up from its earlier spot.
Up two rankings is Chipotle Mexican Grill, with a new score of 87 points.
Closing out our Top 5 is Starbucks, which fell one ranking with a score of 85 points.
Down five rankings from before and falling from the very top is Dairy Queen, landing at No. 6 with a score of 84 points.
Burger King falls to join Wendy’s at the No. 7 spot with 83 points.
No. 8 is tied between Dunkin’ and Pizza Hut, both scoring 80 points. Pizza Hut climbed two rankings to join Dunkin’.
That knocks Crumbl Cookies down a ranking to tie with Panera Bread ranking No. 9 with 79 points.
McDonald’s closes out our Top 10, scoring 78 points to land at No. 10.
