The three top champions of mobile order-ahead hold onto their crown in this month’s edition of PYMNTS’ Provider Ranking of Mobile Order-Ahead Apps, but one drive-in restaurant has taken a tumble.
Using a proprietary combination of publicly available information and app usage data to which PYMNTS has access, we rank restaurants’ mobile order-ahead apps each month, letting you know which come out on top and which can’t quite hack it.
The Top 5
Domino’s Pizza, Taco Bell and Starbucks are once again in a three-way tie for No. 1, with 96 points.
Similarly, Dunkin’ and Panera Bread are again tied at No. 2, scoring 94.
Wingstop, however, has pulled ahead of both of last month’s third-place picks, Burger King and Sonic, jumping to No. 3 from No. 4 with its score rising two points to 92.
Consequently, Burger King was demoted to No. 4, though its score held steady at 91.
Chick-fil-A similarly was knocked down a spot to No. 5, retaining its score of 90.
The Top 10
McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, and Chipotle are again caught in a three-way tie, though they have fallen one spot in the ranking to No.6 with their scores remaining at 89.
Papa John’s Pizza falls down a spot to No. 7, holding onto its score of 87, where it is joined by Sonic, which slid all the way down from third place.
Sheetz was demoted one spot to No. 8, again scoring 81.
Shake Shack was also bumped down a spot to No. 9, though its score held steady at 78, where it is now tied with last month’s sole ninth place pick Subway, whose score rose two points, up from 76.
Closing out the top 10, Wawa kept its No. 10 spot, its score rising from 73 to 75.
