Carrefour and Everli will be rolling out a partnership in 10 French cities after announcing an international commercial agreement, according to a press release Monday (Feb. 14).
Everli is a leading European e-grocery marketplace and Carrefour is a French multinational and the eighth largest retailer in the world, operating stores in more than 30 countries.
Carrefour recently made its hypermarkets and supermarkets available on Everli in 10 cities — Lille, Lyon, Nice, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Montpellier, Nantes, Grenoble, Rennes, Paris — and their suburbs.
The addition of Paris is also newsworthy because Everli has not offered grocery delivery there before, and will open in the suburbs before moving into the center city.
Carrefour and Everli will offer tens of thousands of products from several local stores and same-day delivery.
“Personal Shopping is a new trend within the booming Home Delivery market,” said Elodie Perthuisot, executive director e-commerce, data and digital transformation at the Carrefour Group. “As retailer No. 1 in home delivery for groceries, Carrefour wanted to embrace this new segment to complement its existing e-commerce services’ portfolio, and meet customers’ expectations. The success of our partnership with Everli in other countries … made us confident to naturally develop together in France, our main market.”
PYMNTS previously reported that Carrefour has rolled out several digital initiatives in its European markets, which will honor the pledge to bolster digital investments by 50% between 2022 and 2026, or about €3 billion ($3.5 billion).
