Australian express alcohol delivery service Jimmy Brings has launched a progressive web app (PWA) storefront built on the headless architecture of eCommerce platform BigCommerce.
The BigCommerce’s platform and Deity’s Commerce Composer, Jimmy Brings was able to build a PWA storefront that brings its app and web into one, is easy to maintain and is flexible enough to evolve along with customers’ expectations, according to a Wednesday (Oct. 19) press release.
“We need certainty that when anyone visits our website or app, they can onboard and purchase with the least friction,” Elliott Krass, head of product at Jimmy Brings, said in the release. “Otherwise, the Jimmy Brings experience is diluted.”
With the company’s previous technical infrastructure, the mobile apps and website were technically fragmented, the commerce platform was not built to scale and the physical hosting meant Jimmy Brings had to order servers every year, Krass said.
“Adopting a PWA approach is a stellar reflection of Jimmy Brings staying a step ahead of customer needs and expectations,” Shannon Ingrey, vice president and general manager of BigCommerce in APAC, said in the release. “BigCommerce’s headless solution and the combination of the immersive experience offered by native apps coupled with the reach of, and ease of, access to the internet that PWA provides has immensely changed the experiences Jimmy Brings delivers to customers today.”
