Davidson Hospitality Group has selected eTip as a digital tipping partner.
The hospitality management company aims to use the digital tipping and financial benefits platform to create value across its operations, the companies said in a Monday (Feb. 12) press release.
“We are excited to leverage innovative technology that adapts seamlessly to the evolving needs of our guests, team members and ownership partners,” Thom Geshay, CEO and president at Davidson Hospitality Group, said in the release.
With the eTip program, guests can give tips with a few taps on their smartphone, according to the release. There’s no need to download an app or log in; instead, they can scan a QR code, tap a banner on their screen and then use their preferred payment method to tip.
For hotel staff, the program provides tips with greater security and convenience, the release said.
For hospitality organizations, it offers reporting features that enable analysis of tipping trends, staff performance and guest satisfaction, per the release.
In addition to this latest collaboration, eTip has been selected as the preferred tipping partner for major global hotels and has been designated as a tipping partner solution for both Visa and American Express, according to the release.
“We look forward to this new era of using technology to redefine hospitality,” Nicolas Cassis, co-founder and CEO of eTip, said in the release.
PYMNTS Intelligence has found that instant tip payouts boost morale and job satisfaction in the hospitality industry, a competitive sector in which staff retention has always been a challenge.
However, instant tip payouts were offered to only around half the workforce, even though 82% of workers say they would select this option if given the choice, according to “Generation Instant: Hospitality and Tips,” a PYMNTS Intelligence and Ingo Money collaboration.
In another recent development in the hospitality space, Data Plus and Edenred Pay said in December that they have expanded their partnership to create a new embedded payments solution for hotels and hospitality businesses.
The new DPPay is designed to improve the complete accounts payable process by increasing efficiency, closing communication gaps in data and automating reconciliation processes.
