Following up on the heels of its February decision to go private, online jeweler and diamond seller Blue Nile has named a new chief executive officer.
Jason Goldberger will now serve as Blue Nile CEO and president, replacing Harvey Kanter, who will be staying on as a Blue Nile board member.
With over 20 years of leadership experience in executive retailer roles, Goldberger comes to online jeweler Blue Nile having served at Target as chief digital officer and president as well as vice president of kids’ taste and business development at Gilt.com. He also served in several other eCommerce positions, including ones at Hayneedle, Amazon and QVC.
Kanter commented on the transition of power over to Goldberg. He said, “As the board and I discussed succession planning, we agreed this is the right time to bring in a new CEO to lead the company’s next phase of growth. Jason is an experienced leader with deep eCommerce experience who will work closely with the team to innovate, secure and further our position as the smartest, easiest and most pressure-free way for consumers to buy a diamond. I look forward to working with him as Blue Nile continues to create superior customer experiences.”
