Customers can place their beer orders via the 7Now app. A company statement revealed that a section of the app called “The Beer Necessities” will offer “everything from traditional beers to craft beers and ciders.”
According to Fortune, the company will test the service in 18 markets: Austin, Texas; Charlotte, North Carolina; Chicago, Illinois; Dallas-Ft. Worth, Texas; Los Angeles, California; Miami-Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; New York, New York; Norfolk-Portsmouth, Virginia; Orlando-Daytona, Florida; Phoenix, Arizona; Portland, Oregon; Sacramento, California; San Antonio, Texas; San Diego, California; San Francisco, California; Seattle-Tacoma, Washington; St. Louis, Missouri; and Tampa, Florida.
7-Eleven has worked to make shopping easier for its customers. Late last year, the company rolled out scan-and-go options for customers in 14 stores in Dallas, with plans to equip all of its U.S. stores with the technology this year.
The Scan & Pay feature within 7-Eleven’s mobile app allows customers to scan merchandise to purchase. The app is also connected with the 7Rewards loyalty program, which offers special offers and discounts.
Gurmeet Singh, the chief digital officer for the Texas chain of convenience stores, said at the time that the scan-and-go rollout aimed to attract more customers by enabling them to get in and out of the store in a quicker time frame. The stores are particularly hectic during peak morning and late afternoon times, noted the report.
“We’re always looking to innovate and disrupt,” Singh said. “Customers are always on the go … How can we make every 7-Eleven a breeze? How can they move in and out faster?”
