At a time of the year when there’s maximum pressure on shipping, Amazon announced that shoppers can get their holiday orders by choosing an Amazon Books or Amazon 4-star store as their delivery spots.
The eCommerce retailer also said that Prime members can also receive complimentary same-day shipping without a minimum purchase amount needed this year, according to a Monday (Nov. 23) announcement.
Shoppers can browse for and choose the most convenient location for them when asked at checkout to deliver to an Amazon brick-and-mortar shop or Amazon Hub spot.
Customers will get an email notification with directions on how and where to retrieve their orders after their packages are delivered. They can pick up orders within a window that ranges from three to 15 days depending on the Amazon brick-and-mortar or Amazon Hub spot.
Amazon provides shoppers with different “spoiler free” methods to monitor, retrieve and have parcels delivers in and out of their residences during the holiday season and throughout the year, according to the announcement.
“We’re helping customers keep their orders a surprise this year and have a number of ways we’re providing them more flexibility, control and convenience over their deliveries — whether that’s ordering to an alternative pickup location, tracking their package en route to their home, or consolidating their deliveries to a single day so they can plan ahead,” Amazon Global Delivery Services Vice President John Felton said in the announcement.
The news comes as Amazon said earlier in November that it is growing its Key In-Garage Delivery offering to Prime members in over 4,000 cities throughout the U.S.
Prime members will have the capacity to get deliveries in their garages harnessing a myQ smart garage opener system that connects to Key.
Shoppers can choose complimentary in-garage delivery when making Amazon orders. Delivery notifications can be seen via the Key by Amazon mobile program or the Amazon mobile program.
