Retired NFL quarterback Tom Brady has plans to use his name for several new products like meal kits and deodorant, Bloomberg reported Tuesday (March 8).
Brady filed 26 applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in early March. The things he wants to patent are wide-ranging, including “food delivery, bottled water, protein bars, restaurants and retail boutiques to skincare, candles, eyewear, jewelry, furniture and gym equipment,” per Bloomberg.
This would be a lot for even a big company to submit at the same time, according to Josh Gerben, a trademark lawyer who tracks athletes’ filings.
“He is going to leverage the value in his name and his brand as much as possible,” Gerben said. “He clearly is one of the most well-known athletes of all time and the value that gets attached to his name is extraordinarily significant.”
Brady announced his retirement in February, and since then, the seven-time Super Bowl champion said he plans to work on various business offerings, though initially he didn’t know what that would look like.
PYMNTS wrote in February that Brady has his work cut out for him in terms of business after his sports career has ended.

While he’s starting the next chapter of life with a net worth of $250 million, other living sports legends like Roger Stubach and Michael Jordan have a lot more than that, millions of dollars and decades of deals advanced.
PYMNTS wrote that Brady, even in his pre-retirement days when he had around $30 million a year in salary, had a penchant for business and was making investments and doing other such things.
Brady, in his farewell statement, made it clear what his goals were.
“I have loved my NFL career, and now it is time to focus my time and energy on other things that require my attention,” Brady said via his personal Twitter account. “The future is exciting and I’m fortunate to have co-founded incredible companies … that I am excited to continue to help build and grow.”
