Camping World has become the first dedicated camping and recreational vehicle (RV) supplies retailer to partner with Instacart for same-day delivery.
This collaboration allows Camping World customers to access nearly 1,800 products for same-day delivery through the Instacart app and website, the companies said in a Thursday (Oct. 26) press release. The products will be delivered from more than 185 Camping World stores nationwide.
“In today’s digital age, online shopping is the norm, and customers are increasingly seeking swift delivery solutions,” Emily Causseaux, senior director of retail – omnichannel and marketing at Camping World, said in the release. “This partnership takes our omnichannel strategy to new heights, providing customers with an unparalleled shopping experience, focused on convenience.”
Customers can now explore Camping World’s selection of outdoor gear, camping equipment and RV essentials in a dedicated storefront on the Instacart platform, according to the release. Camping World offers a diverse range of innovative and practical gear, including solar-powered portable grills and high-tech weather-resistant tents.
To facilitate the delivery of larger items, Camping World is utilizing Instacart’s Big & Bulky fulfillment solution, the release said. This allows for same-day and scheduled delivery of items weighing up to 60 pounds, such as foldout camping tables, large tents and smart TVs.
Blake Wallace, senior director of retail partnerships at Instacart, said in the release that the platform will power Camping World’s same-day delivery and elevate its eCommerce strategy.
“Whether stocking up for a trip or grabbing last-minute essentials, we’re committed to bringing the great outdoors to customers’ doorsteps in as fast as an hour,” Wallace said.
Adding non-grocery brands seems to be part of Instacart’s strategy, PYMNTS’ Karen Webster wrote in August.
“PYMNTS data is clear that consumers want the convenience of buying the things they want every day from a single platform that makes order and delivery easy and convenient,” Webster wrote.
The platform launched its Big & Bulky program in August 2022, offering same-day delivery on large items for retail partners like Big Lots, Container Store, Mastermind Toys, Office Depot, Staples and Spirit Halloween. This offering is powered by Carrot Delivery, which is an Instacart platform enterprise solution that allows end-to-end fulfillment for retailers.
