San Francisco-based FinTech Stripe has been selected as a strategic partner by the life insurance pensions provider Irish Life, which will integrate Stripe’s payment solutions into its Smart Invest app.
Launched in 2021, Smart Invest helps Irish Life customers invest in a range of funds with different risk profiles and track the performance of their investments, according to a Sept. 23 press release. Users can get started with as little as €100 in their accounts through the Irish Life Assurance FlexInvest plan.
“Our partnership with Stripe helps give our customers a world-class payments experience with a wide variety of payment methods including card payments and digital wallet integration,” said Shane Carroll, digital product lead at Irish Life. “This will help us further enhance the market-leading customer experience in our Smart Invest app and continue to grow our business.”
Stripe will handle investments through its payments platform and Stripe Billing offering, retaining Smart Invest customers’ payment details.
Additionally, Stripe Radar will be deployed to detect and prevent fraud on the app, while Stripe Connect will enable client fund segregation and simplify the app’s core financial operations, per the release.
Eileen O’Mara, global head of sales at Stripe, added that “we’re proud to be partnering with Irish Life on Smart Invest to help them enhance both their user experience and their operational efficiency. In the current macroeconomic climate, we are more focused than ever on helping Ireland’s leading businesses increase their revenue and innovate faster.”
