Remote Unveils Platform for Managing Distributed Workforce

Remote has unveiled a platform designed to help companies hire, manage and pay their globally distributed workforces.

The new Global HR Platform aims to address the challenges faced by companies managing remote workers with a compliant HR system that streamlines the employment lifecycle, the provider of globally distributed workforce solutions said in a Tuesday (Sept. 19) press release.

Traditionally, companies have relied on disparate tools and providers to manage various aspects of the employment process, according to the release. However, as businesses expand internationally, their existing HR systems often prove inadequate, leading to operational inefficiencies.

Remote’s Global HR Platform provides a comprehensive suite of integrated products designed to meet the demands of managing a global workforce, the release said.

One key feature of the platform is Remote HRIS, which allows companies to manage their entire workforce from onboarding to offboarding, according to the press release. It includes talent management, time and attendance tracking, expense management and integrated payroll.

Another notable feature is the Employer of Record, which enables companies to hire, manage and pay employees in countries where they do not have a legal entity, the release said. Remote also facilitates the offering of worldwide equity incentives and country-specific benefits packages at negotiated rates, helping companies attract top talent.

Contractor Management simplifies the process of paying and managing international and domestic contractors with automated onboarding, invoicing and tax compliance, per the release. It also supports payments in multiple currencies, eliminating conversion costs.

Global Payroll allows companies to consolidate their global payroll operations, according to the release. The user-friendly interface enables companies to run global payroll in minutes using Remote’s full-stack processes and global knowledge.

To facilitate seamless integration, Remote offers an advanced application programming interface (API) for global employment, the release said. This API allows customers to integrate global HR functionalities into their preferred tools, securely syncing data and improving workflows.

For employers, the greatest advantage of remote work is access to global talent, Remote CEO Job van der Voort told PYMNTS’ Karen Webster in an April 2022 interview.

“If you say you have to be able to commute to the office, even if it’s just one day a week, you’re essentially saying we only are going to hire people who live close by or are able to move close by,” van der Voort said. “In that sense, you lose through competition of companies that say it doesn’t matter where you live.”
