Digital guest-experience platform Paytronix has announced that KC Hopps, a Kansas City-based restaurant management group which owns Stroud’s, has rolled out a new set of takeout-only establishments, a press release says.
“Within a month and a half, we had Paytronix Order & Delivery up and running company-wide,” said Bethany Neal, VP of sales, marketing and technology. “The Paytronix Order & Delivery team was great with the integration. It’s a user-friendly product and it gave us something exciting to talk to our guests about in a really hard year for our industry.”
The restaurants are located in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Mission, Kansas.
KC Hopps was among the businesses taking advantage of the time in which the pandemic had shut down much of indoor dining, using the time to roll out Stroud’s Express, an offshoot of the Kansas City Stroud’s, an institution since 1933. The new version focused on curbside delivery, takeout and other things that have become more common since March 2020 when COVID hit.
The new online ordering capacity will let users earn and redeem points for free appetizers, entrees and desserts. There will also be other things available like birthday and anniversary rewards.
Restaurants have continually had to react to the various issues of the pandemic, PYMNTS writes, including multiple mask mandates and spikes in viral infections that have threatened their ability to stay open.

The 2021 edition of the Restaurant Readiness Index, a PYMNTS and Paytronix collaboration, has found that “restaurants that have managed to keep their doors open since March 2020 have done so by finding new ways for their customers to order from the safety and comfort of their homes. What is less well-known is the extent to which restaurants now rely on remote food orders to drive sales.”

The average restaurant, the report found, has 67 percent of its revenue now coming from the food orders placed either digitally or over the phone.
