PYMNTS’ research shows that nearly three-quarters of the U.S. adult population — roughly 182 million consumers — subscribed to at least one service in July 2020, a 9 percent increase from February 2020. Nearly half of these new subscribers say they will keep their services after the pandemic has ended. The Subscription Commerce Conversion Index, a PYMNTS and Recurly collaboration, describes how merchants are improving services to turn new customers into long-term subscribers, as retaining subscriber loyalty now requires faster, more flexible experiences.
