Twitter Blue subscribers may soon be able to edit their tweets.
Citing an introductory screen saying “Join Twitter Blue to get early access to Edit Tweet” that was shared by app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi, SocialMediaToday reported Monday (Aug. 8) that this capability looks to be launched as part of Twitter Blue.
An edit function has been the upgrade most highly requested by Twitter users for years, and it now looks to become a feature exclusive to the social media platform’s subscription service, per the report.
This new feature will likely boost interest in Twitter Blue, the cost of which is rising by 67%, according to the report.
Twitter’s subscription plan is increasing from $2.99 to $4.99 in an effort to help the social media platform build out new features, PYMNTS reported July 29.

A Twitter Blue email sent to subscribers showed that the higher price is in effect for new subscribers now, but early adopters are locked into original pricing until October.
The email also points to a “more frictionless reading experience” among changes being rolled out and additional features in Twitter Blue Labs.
Currently, subscribers to Twitter Blue get add-ons like a feature to undo tweets and fix typos, a customizable navigation bar and a list of Top Articles shared by people users follow. There is also ad-free access to articles and the ability to choose NFT profile pictures.
Together with being a feature commonly requested by users, the suggestion that Twitter users be allowed to edit their posts was also promoted by Elon Musk during his hostile takeover bid for Twitter.
